In my dream my 5 year old daughter was in her room and I seen my older brother, her uncle, walking to her room and then he shut the door. My daughter is autistic and nonverbal so she has minimal words but she tries hard to get her words out. I could hear her voice stimming and I knew she was mad and I could hear her say stop tio. I ran to her room but the door was locked. I can still hear her stimming in frustration and I could tell she was getting uncomfortable. The was a window that lead to her room in the dream. I could see the back of my brothers head and he was sitting down. I’m yelling at my brother to open the door , he’s still sitting down but I can’t see my daughter but I can tell he’s holding her heard down for some reason and I can’t hear her struggling and trying to tell him no and get away from him. So I run to this window and break through it and when I do, I’m finally in the room and I’m yelling to my brother to let her go or I’ll kill him and I see my brother let my daughter up and her face is all red and she has tears all on her face and she trying to wipe her mouth like she had something in her mouth that she didn’t like and my brother is mad and he’s just sitting there upset. And I start to hit him and tell him to get out of my house. But he’s just sitting there fuming. And in the dream he’s not looking directly at me but I can’t hear see the side of his face and his complexion is dark and sweaty and he just has this pissed off look on his face but he won’t say anything. So I grab my daughter and just run out of my house. That’s when I wake up from the dream.
Dreams are often symbolic and can reflect our subconscious thoughts, fears, and concerns. Let's break down your dream:
Protectiveness Over Your Daughter: Your dream starts with your daughter in her room, which represents her personal space and comfort zone. As a parent, especially of a child who is nonverbal and autistic, you naturally have a deep-seated desire to protect her. Your brother entering her space and locking the door could symbolize a fear that someone might intrude upon or misunderstand her needs.
Communication Challenges: Your daughter's struggle to communicate effectively in the dream highlights the daily reality and concern you face regarding her ability to express herself. Her saying "stop tio" might reflect your awareness of her struggles to convey her boundaries and discomforts, and your desire for her to have a voice.
Feeling of Helplessness: The locked door is a powerful symbol. It might represent situations where you feel blocked or helpless in effectively protecting or supporting your daughter. The frustration and urgency to reach her, perhaps, echo the emotions you feel when trying to mediate her experiences and advocate for her needs in the real world.
Confronting Threats: Breaking through the window signifies your determination and willingness to do whatever it takes to protect your daughter. It showcases the courage and extreme measures you're willing to employ when you perceive a threat to her well-being. Your confrontation with your brother represents dealing with challenging or threatening circumstances and people in life that might not understand or respect your daughter's needs.
Emotional Release: The physical altercation and your brother's reaction could signify internal conflicts. Your brother's angry demeanor might not be about him specifically but more a representation of frustration or conflicts you might feel with family members or society's misunderstanding of autism.
Escaping the Situation: Taking your daughter and leaving the house demonstrates a wish to remove her from a harmful or toxic environment. This action might suggest your underlying wish to shield her from real-life situations where she might be misunderstood or not fully accepted.
Emotional Resonance: The dream ends with you waking up, signifying that these issues are important to you on both a conscious and subconscious level. Your daughter's red face and tears are poignant images reflecting vulnerability and a call for empathy and support in her life.
Overall, your dream seems to express your deep love, protectiveness, and dedication to your daughter's well-being, as well as some insecurities or challenges you may face in trying to ensure she is safe and understood by those around her. It might be beneficial to assess if there are any current family dynamics or external situations causing stress or if there are additional supports you can seek to help your daughter navigate her world safely and creatively.
